City of elaborate canals and artistic heritage. Attracts millions of visitors every year. Find Dutch comfort food such as croquettes, poffertjes, and stroopwafels just about anywhere. Explore the city by bike and visit the Tulip Garden of Europe (Keukenhof) by bus.

Day 1 - Full Day

Sightseeing (Amsterdam and Lisse)

1. Keukenhof - huge is an understatement for this garden. Spent almost half my day here.

2. Museumplein (museum district with IAmsterdam sign): Visit Rijksmuseum (classic masterpieces) or Van Gogh museum (contemporary)

3. Dam Square - lots of birbs, shops, and pretty buildings

4. Canal Tour or Bike Tour - the best way to see the city

5. Amsterdam Centraal - everyone who's been to Amsterdam has a picture in front of this Gothic-Renaissance building

Day 2 - Half Day

Sightseeing

Sightseeing (Volendam)

1. Foto de Boer - every Indonesian family who has been to Holland gets their pic in Dutch costumes taken here. It's a tradition.

2. Cheese Factory (Volendam) - that is, if you like cheese..

3. Fishmongers and Caterer Harbor - super fresh seafood to enjoy by the seaside.

Dining

Disclaimer: We mainly ate street-food (frites) for the most part of our stay here. Didn't really get the full dining experience, but the food has been great overall.

1. Manneken Pis $ - rated #1 best frites in Amsterdam as one could argue.

2. Van der Linde $ - fluffiest and best soft ice you will ever have in your life. 

3. Indonesian Kitchen $$$ - my standards are high for Indonesian food, this place has very small portions, v. overpriced, but the taste is authentic.

4. Winkel 43 $ - famous for its Dutch Apple Pie

5. Hotspot Central (Leiden) $$ - find a blend of Indo-Dutch comfort food here. Amazing croquettes.

6. De Bakkerswinkel $ - THE BEST EGGTARTS EVER.

Other recommendations:

- The Pancake Bakery $ - creperie in the central. Good for brunch

- Piqniq $$ - heard many good things about this lunch hotspot

- Jacketz $ - #PotatoLove is all I could say

- Toastable Koningsplein $ - name says it all
